Maria Lynn Miller (64) of Montrose

Maria Lynn Miller, 64, of Montrose, IL passed away peacefully Friday evening June 7, 2019 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO with her husband and three sons by her side.
Maria was born on January 6, 1955 in Mount Carmel, IL, the youngest daughter of Harold and Grace (Kirkman) Storckman. On August 5, 1978, she married the love of her life, Daryl Miller, in Mt. Carmel. They met when they were both teachers in Jerseyville, IL and moved back to Montrose, IL in 1982, where they farmed and raised their three sons, Brent, Kirk and Whitney. Maria was a teacher’s aide at Dieterich Elementary School and retired in 2016 with her husband Daryl. They enjoyed traveling and staying busy with their children and four grandchildren. Maria was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend to so many.
She is survived by her husband, Daryl of Montrose, IL; her three sons, Brent (Nile) Miller of La Grange, IL, Kirk (Brittany) Miller of Montrose, IL, and Whitney (Christina) Miller of South Milwaukee, WI; four grandchildren, Andrew, David, Lucy, and Cora; brother, Steve (Sara) Storckman of Mt. Carmel, IL; mother-in-law, Leona Miller of Montrose, IL; brother-in-law, George Griess of Bella Vista, AR; brother-in-law, Dennis (Jane) Miller of Montrose, IL; and sister-in-law, Brenda (Paul) Carpenter of Scottsdale, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Marcia Griess and Cindy Berg; father-in-law, Floyd Miller; nephew, Greg Storckman; and brother-in-law, Terry Miller.
There will be a visitation on Friday, June 14 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, June 15, starting at 10:30 a.m., both at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL.
