Nancy Lee Tripp, 81, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, with her husband by her side.

Born on December 8, 1937 in Algoma, WI, she was the daughter of Florence and Harold Maedke of Brussels, WI. She was a graduate of Southern Door High School, Brussels, WI.

Preceded in death by her parents and a brother David.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Reverend Robert Tripp; daughters, Grace Tripp and wife Sue Sheppard, Faith Tripp, and Joy McDowell; son, Daniel and his wife, Isabella, as well as 6 grandchildren and one great-grandson. She is also survived by her sisters, Susan Kocha (Tom), and Sally Flores (Chuck).

Nancy held many jobs while raising her children and helping to put her husband through college and seminary. She and her husband served churches in Illinois and then she went with him as he served as Chaplain for 20 years in the Air Force. While in the Air Force, she was an active volunteer at many of the Bases. After more than 24 moves, they retired at Lake Sara in Effingham, IL where she enjoyed feeding the many birds and animals that traversed their yard.  Nancy was an active worshipper at UIF Church in Pana, First Presbyterian Church in Effingham, and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Altamont.

There will be no visitation as she has donated her remains to Southern Illinois School of Medicine. A service of remembrance is being planned. Nancy had asked that all who knew her take private time to thank God for the good times, friendship, the presence of God and the love she and her husband shared with all.
