Doris Jean Schorman, 76, of Montrose, Illinois, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wheeler, Illinois with burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Doris Jean was born on October 14, 1942, in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Freda (Starwalt) McClain. She was united in marriage to Donald Schorman on December 7, 1974 and he preceded her in death on February 12, 1985.

Doris Jean worked at Brown Shoe Company and over the years, was a secretary for St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Village of Montrose, and McKinney Trucking. Doris Jean loved her church, singing, and teaching Sunday school for 34 years. She enjoyed reading and working puzzle books, and going out to eat with friends. Doris Jean found the most joy in her family and spending time with her granddaughter, Olivia.

Doris Jean is survived by her son, Derek (Laura) Schorman of Montrose; granddaughter, Olivia Schorman; and brother, Bill (Kathy) McClain of Effingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Schorman; son, Darrin Schorman; and granddaughter, Grace Schorman;
