Marilyn Ann (Dhom) Zumbahlen, age 83, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 9:43 PM Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Monday, May 13 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bishop Creek rural Dieterich, Illinois, with Fr. Bill Rooney celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM Sunday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bishop Creek (rural Dieterich). There will also be a visitation 9:00-10:00 AM before the mass in church. In loving memory of Marilyn, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund PO Box 333 Newton, Illinois 62448. Marilyn Ann was born on April 16, 1936, in Jasper County, Illinois, the daughter of Alexander and Theresa (Eckl) Dhom. She married Cletus Francis Zumbahlen on September 27, 1958, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on October 22, 2015.

Marilyn was a farmer’s wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish and had a great love for her faith. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Marilyn is survived by: seven children - Steven (Linda) Zumbahlen, Brenda (Wayne) Pruemer, Michelle (Keith) Kuhl and Kent (Cindy) Zumbahlen all of Dieterich, Illinois; Julie (Gary) Flach of Montrose, Illinois; Sandra (Matthew) Mitchell of Hidalgo, Illinois and Stephanie (Dan) Shadle of Dieterich, Illinois; 23 Grandchildren - Lance (Maria) Zumbahlen, Brock (Ashley) Zumbahlen, Brittany (Michael) Probst, Mitch (Nikki) Pruemer, Jay (Kim) Pruemer, Whitney (Clayton) Steffen, Ryan (Alyssa) Pruemer, Blake (Katelin) Kuhl, Olivia Kuhl (fiancé Drew Lewis), Brandon Kuhl, Evan Kuhl, Derek Kuhl, Nathan (Whitney) Zumbahlen, Kylie (Nathan) Garbe, Seth Flach (fiancé Tori Hardiek), Hunter Flach, Devin Flach, Mabry Mitchell, Sienna Mitchell, Anna Shadle, Braden Shadle and Malia Shadle; 15 Great-grandchildren - Henry Zumbahlen, Jackson Zumbahlen, Hudson Zumbahlen, Asher Pruemer, Kelton Pruemer, Isabella Pruemer, Coye Pruemer, Maggie Steffen, Colin Steffen, Myles Kuhl, Austin Zumbahlen, Caroline Zumbahlen, Clara Zumbahlen, Ryerson Zumbahlen and Huxleigh Garbe; Sister - Rosella Hemrich of Newton, Illinois; Brother - Andrew “Duke” Dhom of Newton, Illinois; Brother-in-law - Ben Kessler of Quincy, Illinois; and Sister-in-law – Linda Dhom of Newton, Illinois.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Michael Shadle, sister Martha Kessler and brother Ted Dhom.
