Myrna Joy Myers, age 80, formerly of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 3:10 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Sunrise Skilled Nursing Center in Virden, Illinois.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. The concluding burial service will be held at the Edgewood Cemetery in Edgewood, Illinois immediately following the visitation.

Myrna was born on February 8, 1939 in Effingham County, Illinois, the daughter of Rolla Monroe and Alma May (Freeman) Myers. Myrna worked at the Community Support Systems in Teutopolis for over 30 years. She loved working at Community Support Systems and all the cleaning duties it entailed. She attended Modesto Baptist Church in Modesto, Illinois.  She enjoyed listening to gospel music, doing embroidery and putting jigsaw puzzles together.

She is survived by her brother, Monroe Myers (wife Peg) of St. Peters, Missouri; two sisters, Barbara Myers of Girard, Illinois and Lauretta Newton (husband Jim) of Swansea, Illinois; two nephews, Marc Myers (wife Stacie) of St. Peters, Missouri, Kevin Newton (wife Alexa) of St. Louis, Missouri; great-nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Rebecca, Madison, Garrett, and Cody Myers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rolla and Alma Myers; sister-in-law, Nancy Myers and nephew, Michael Myers.
