Franklin L. Hames, 73, of Vandalia, formerly of Brownstown died at 12:25AM Tuesday, January 29th, 2013 at his home.
Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 1st, 2013 at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown with Rev. Martin Haseley officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.

Franklin was born on March 14, 1939 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Riley and Leona (Smith) Lynch. He served in the U.S. Army. He had worked as butcher most of his life and had also worked at Old Capitol Monument Works, Vandalia. He was a member of Arm Prairie Baptist Church. He married Margarie Elizabeth Thomason and she preceded him in death. He then married Donna (Welch) Parker on January 21, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of Vandalia, Sons; Rick Hames (Jeannie), Alma, Bill Hames (Charlotte), St. Peter. Daughters; Carol Evans (Roy), St. Elmo, Kathy Green (Edward), Vandalia, Christi Carlock (special friend, Max Yokley), Brownstown. Stepdaughter, Carla Engelbrektson (Dan), Vandalia. Stepson, Rick Sidwell, Ramsey. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sister, Eva Bucknell (Bill) of Arkansas. Brother, Jim Lynch (Debbie), Blue Mound.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margarie, grandson, step grandson, step great grandson and a daughter-in-law.
