Anna Louise “Tuddie” Gibbons, age 88, of Iola, Illinois passed away at 2:13 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30 at the Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood, Illinois with one hour viewing prior to service. Pastor Kent Robinson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Keen’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Memorials may be made to HSHS Hospice or the donor’s choice. Anna was born on November 3, 1930 in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Gustave and Mildred (Williams) Reuter. She married the love of her life, Thomas Gibbons on October 28, 1950 in Effingham, Illinois. She spent most of her life maintaining a warm and loving home for her family. She loved to cook and was known far and wide for her homemade pies. She will be deeply missed.

Anna is survived by her husband, Thomas Gibbons of Iola, Illinois; four children, Gail Bailey (husband, John) of Iola, Illinois, Karen Probst (husband, Robert) of Watson, Illinois, Jim Gibbons (wife, Rosie) of Edgewood, Illinois and Karla Shaffer (husband, Joe) of St. Joseph, Illinois; one sister, Alice Britton (husband, Bill) of Iola, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, Tina Olszewski, Chad Bailey, Megan Rieman, Justin Probst, Emily Lotz, Tom Gibbons, Joe Gibbons, Amanda Rieman, Sarah Shaffer, Kelly Jo Shaffer-Long and Jessie Larimore; 19 great grandchildren, Brandy Pontious, Trevor and Madelyn Rieman, Ashley and Katelyn Owen, Claire and Garrett Bailey, Andrew, Evan and Aleece Lotz, James and Eva Gibbons, Anna and Taylor Rieman, Kara, Megan, Maddie and Wyatt Long and Drew Larimore; one great-great grandchild, Jackson Shaffer; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave and Mildred Reuter; one brother, Herman “Bud” Reuter; three sisters, Charlotte June Liggett, Helen Barton and Peg Fairchild.
