Janice E. Alwardt, age 75, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 4:23 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019 at her home.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 at the Edgewood Cemetery, Edgewood, Illinois. Judy Poe will be officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made by clicking here.
Janice was born on August 3, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of James Floyd Arnold and Pauline Vivian (Wexler) Arnold. She married Wayne Alwardt Sr. on January 27, 1985 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a member of the Assembly of God in Effingham, Illinois. She loved to go shopping, play bingo, and spend time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her four sons, Randy Alwardt (wife, Stacy) of Edgewood, Illinois, Wayne Alwardt Jr. (wife Pam) of Shelbyville, Illinois, Scott Branning of Florida, Robert Guptail (wife Yolanda) of Edgewood, Illinois; two daughters, Michelle Stuemke of St. Elmo, Illinois, Amy Doehring (husband, Michael) of Groton, Connecticut; three brothers, James Arnold of Joliet, Illinois, Mike Kelly of Brandon, Mississippi, Kent Chalus (wife, Susan) of Rochelle, Illinois; one sister, Carol Taylor of Edgewood, Illinois; 26 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Pauline Arnold; her husband, Wayne Alwardt Sr.; son, Jeff Branning; brother, Ronald Arnold.
