Gloria Kaye Goodman, 76, of Oskaloosa, passed away at 11:12 am Thursday, March 21, 2019 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Gloria Kaye was born on September 11, 1942 in Adams County, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late James Theodore Stanley and Mary Virginia (Oakley) Stanley-Poe. She married George “Eddie” Goodman on March 9, 1973 in Effingham and he survives. Mrs. Goodman worked for over 30 years at Fedders in Effingham, mainly in the press room. She was a member of the Iola Missionary Baptist Church.

Gloria Kaye enjoyed mushroom hunting in the spring, fishing with her family during the summer and the beauty of roses all year long. She loved her family gatherings and she enjoyed taking care of her family. She loved watching her grandchildren grow up.

In addition to her husband George “Eddie”, she is survived by one daughter, Sonja (Kevin) Aten; four sons, Jerry (Penny) Tillery, Larry (Annette) Tillery, Robert (Tiffanie) Tillery and Michael “Mickey” Goodman. Eleven grandchildren, Sarah and Paul Aten; Jacob and Joshua Tillery; Nicole, Benjamin and Morgan Tillery; Stephanie (David) Simmons, Damion Dehlinger, Gunner Tillery and Lee Goodman; two great-grandsons, Johnathan and Lucas Simmons, five sisters; Pat Thomson, Marie Sparling, Teddie Knox, Peggy Spracklen and Mary Beth Shoemaker, and by a brother; Michael Poe. She leaves behind her beloved dog, Zoie.

In addition to her parents and her first husband, Jerry Tillery Sr., she was preceded in death by two sisters; Marilyn Feldhake and Bonita Kuhlman and by a grandson, James Tillery.

Memorial services honoring the life of Gloria Kaye will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 30 at the Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Pastor Steve DeVore will officiate. Interment will follow at the Oskaloosa Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
