Bettie Rose Baue, 86, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, with her sister Sandra by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17 at the First Presbyterian Church in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 18 in Union Cemetery in Sparta, IL. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Bettie was born on February 27, 1933, in Coulterville, IL, the daughter of Stanley and Elsie (Sinclair) Stolze. She married the love of her life, Vernon Dale Baue on June 14, 1951 at the Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, CO. They even needed permission from his sergeant to marry. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1999. Bettie was thankful she had a mother who took her to church to learn about Jesus. Bettie was lucky enough to have the two best children in the world and was blessed to be able to take care of her family. She enjoyed traveling with Vernon Dale and spending winters in Texas. Bettie loved line dancing, especially with her husband everywhere they went. She also dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bettie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Bettie is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Joe) Freimuth of Effingham; daughter-in-law, Vanessa Baue of Atoka, TN; grandchildren, Amy (Kevin) Hoffmeister of Effingham and Phillip Dale (Molly) Freimuth of Troy; great-grandchildren, Hazel Freimuth, Trenton Hoffmeister, Lennon Rose Freimuth, and Logan Dale Hoffmeister; sister, Sandra (Ron) Kempfer of Coulterville; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Stolze and Elsie Cunningham; husband, Vernon Dale Baue; and son, Michael Dale Baue.
