Patricia Jane (Terry) Talbot, 93, of Shelbyville, Illinois passed away peacefully at 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Shelbyville, Illinois.
Patricia was born on December 24, 1925, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Ethyl and Gaylord Terry. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1944 and enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II. She then attended nursing school from 1944-1947 on a government scholarship and became a registered nurse upon completing her residency in 1947.
On December 25, 1947, Patricia and James Talbot were united in marriage, in Shelbyville, in the home of Patricia. She worked in various hospitals from 1947 to 1979. In 1979, James retired from his job in Danville, Illinois and they moved to Shelbyville. Upon returning to Shelbyville, Patricia worked at the Shelbyville Manor for about three years. In 1988, Patricia and James purchased and moved to the Terry farm where she had grown up. Patricia especially loved living in the country. She was very proud of her flower gardens and taking care of her home. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and spent much time with them, especially Kristen in the early 1990’s. Patricia was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
Surviving her are her sons: Robert (Yuna) Talbot of Carol Stream and James Talbot of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Kristen, Nicholas, Melissa, Amanda and Michael.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethyl and Gaylord Terry; husband, James Talbot and daughter, Janice.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville followed by graveside services at Glenwood Cemetery with Reverend Timothy Yankee officiating.
