Donald K. "Butch" Baker (78) of rural Neoga

Donald K. "Butch" Baker, 78, of rural Neoga died at 3:47am Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County.
He was born February 8, 1940, in Sigel, Illinois the son of Earl C. and Hester (Wolf) Baker. He married Joan L. Pardieck June 12, 1960, in Sigel, Illinois. Butch was a co-owner and a board member of the E.C. Baker Water Drilling Company, a member and past President of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, both of Sigel, Illinois, a past President of the Baker family reunion. Butch also was a member of the IL Old Time Fiddler’s group and he played in the Ache’n Back String Band. He enjoyed his music and he never knew a stranger, he always enjoyed visiting, or helping anyone he could.
Butch leaves his wife Joan L. Baker of Neoga, after almost fifty-nine years together. He also leaves one son, Kali Wolf of Neoga, IL; four brothers, Norman Baker (Leona) of Hidalgo, IL, Arthur "Tuffy" Baker (Ruth) of Sigel, IL, Tom Baker (Joann) and J. Curtis Baker (Luella) all of Effingham, IL; one sister, Bonnie Baker of Sigel, IL; special nephews, Bernie Tegeler, Brian Tegeler and several other nieces and nephews.
Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, George, Earl Jr., Floyd, Max and Paul Baker; two sisters, Sarah Carpenter and Loretta Tegeler.
