Clyde T. Newkirk (77) of Effingham

Clyde T. Newkirk, 77, of Effingham, IL, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 11 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Clyde was born on October 25, 1941, in Effingham, IL, the son of Thomas and Louise (Having) Newkirk. Clyde enjoyed working as a route supervisor for B. Mansfield & Co. for 26 years. He also was employed at Roadmaster for 5 years. He loved the Chicago Cubs and socializing. His greatest love was his grandchildren and family.

Clyde is survived by his significant other, Annie Stine of Effingham; children, Sandra (John) LaFont of Unionville, Gayla Robertson (David Reed) of Beecher City, Lisa Hille of Effingham, and Jason (Angie) Newkirk of Teutopolis; grandchildren, Eillott (Amber) Goeckner, Holly (fiancé, Brent) Goeckner, Juston (Sara) Gillum, Macaulay (Tara) Mason, Derek Hille, Cole (Leah) Hille, Tre (fiancée, Teah) Hille, Dillion Hille, Tyler Newkirk, and Kaylee Newkirk; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Maddox, Jett, Gaige, Coen, Beckett, Porter, and Addilyn; and sisters, Betty Newkirk of Effingham and Norma (Rex) Noneman of Oak Creek, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Newkirk; and sister, Mae (Lowell) Jackson.
