Harold J. Chance, 88, of Middleburg, Florida, formerly of Kinmundy, died Friday, January 11, 2013 at Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, Florida.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2pm at Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy.  Visitation will be from 1-2pm Saturday.  Burial with military rites by Kinmundy American Legion Post #518 in Evergreen Cemetery at Kinmundy.  Memorials to Waste Not Want Not at www.wastenotflorida.com. 

He was born September 1, 1924 in Kinmundy, the son of Clarence S. and Stella F. (Brimberry) Chance.  He married Irene Chance and she preceded him in death.  He was an auto body repairmant, was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Fleming Island, volunteered as a professional clown and enjoyed lapidary, gardening and raising amaryllis.

Survivors include sons, Darrell Hanna and wife Sue of Orange Park, Florida, Del Chance and wife Meg of Bloomington, and David Chance of Scio, Oregon...daughters, LaVrene Norton and husband Mike of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Annette Chance of Orange Park, Florida, Mary Ellen Hummel and husband Martin of Jefferson City, Missouri, Christina Chase and Mark Plumb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Dia Langellier and husband Randy of Springfield...brother, Kenny Chance of Salem...sisters, Betty Mulvaney of Kinmundy, Dot Chance and Donna Lou Owens of Salem...15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
