Chris R. Mooday, age 56, of Mason, Illinois passed away at 1:43 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at St. Louis University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services celebrating Chris’ life will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 8 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. There will be a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Pastor Nathan Delks will be officiating. Burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery in Edgewood, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Chris was born on July 13, 1962 in Coles County, Illinois, the son of Jerry and Nancy Mooday. He married his soul mate, Mona Ricketts, on June 19, 1993 in Mason, Illinois. They spent 25 amazing years together. Chris had a 32 year career in the cable television industry that ranged from construction to technical operations manager. Chris enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his son, J.J. He loved to make people laugh and drive around in his old jeep. He was a member of the Edgewood Christian Church. Chris will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Mona Mooday of Mason, Illinois; two sons, J.J. Mooday (Olivia) of Kincaid, Illinois and Chris Wickiser (Tasha) of Decatur, Illinois; two brothers, Brian Mooday of Hidalgo, Illinois and Steve Ebie (Carla) of Mattoon, Illinois; sister, Sandy Floyd (Kirby) of Windsor, Illinois; and brother-in-law, Mike Ricketts (Jodie) of New York.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Mooday; grandparents, Clifford and Evelyn Mooday and Burl and Maxine Shull.
