Jean Young has passed to be with her Lord, her Bob, and beloved Mary Jean surrounded by her family at her home.

Jean Arlene Blomberg was born on October 7, 1929, to Charles and Nelle (Diss) Blomberg at her home in rural Kinmundy. After graduating in 1947 from LaGrove High School in Farina, she attended business school in Champaign. While working in the School of Agriculture, she met a young student, Robert Young, who became the love of her life. They married on June 30, 1951 in Los Angeles while he was stationed at Camp Pendleton in the United States Marine Corp. They returned to the area and bought their farm in 1955. She retired from the Illinois State Police in 2006 as a truck weight inspector at the Brownstown Weigh Station.

She is survived by her daughter, Sue Hamilton (Ron) of Effingham, Nancy Krummrich (Roger, deceased) of Freeburg, Cindy Garrett (Reed) of Kinmundy; grandchildren, Sarah Yates, Tim Yates (Brandice) all of Kinmundy, Kari Westjohn (Jim) of Watson, Chris Hamilton (Kate) of Rantoul, Jim Hamilton (Jodi) of Sydney, Nikki Miller (Toby) of Freeburg, Andrea Massey (Jared) of Waterloo, Shawn Garrett (Brittany), and Kyla Hall (Devin) of Kinmundy; great grandchildren, Trevor Keen, Adrienne Herbert, Reese and Tessa Yates, Krosby and Stevie Horath, Kylie, Katie, Kaeden, Jordan, Jessica and Jayden Hamilton, Cole and Carson Miller, Hunter Massey, Sydnee, Brooklyn, Lexington and  Braxton Garrett, and Kash Hall; brothers Charles Blomberg (Zola) of Farina, Howard Blomberg (Pat), and Don (Coleen) Blomberg all of Kiinmundy; brother-in-law Howard Voelker of Altamont, sister-in-law Marian Young of Golden. Jean leaves many nieces, nephews and greats as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved Bob, daughter Mary Jean, son-in-law, Roger Krummrich, sister Helen Voelker, twin sister Junne Curtis, an infant brother, and brother-in-law Bill Young.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Farina with Josh Conley officiating. Burial will follow in the Farina Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Farina. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Farina, or to the Donor's choice and will be accepted by the Rankin Funeral Home, entrusted with the family's care.
