C. Milton Hinkle (91) of Effingham

C. Milton Hinkle, 91 of Effingham, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at his home with his family by his side. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 16th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham with burial at St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:30 PM Tuesday evening at the church with a Knights Columbus rosary to follow. Memorial donations may be given to Sacred Heart School for tuition or to the church for the renovation. Arrangements are in care of Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.

Milton was born on August 2, 1927 in Mason, Illinois. He was the son of Chester and Mable (Scruggs) Hinkle. He married Dolores Sieben on August 6, 1955 and she preceded him in death on August 24, 2009. Milton was the co-owner of Hinkle & Percival Masonry Contracting until he retired. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a member of the Effingham Knights of Columbus, as well as the Bricklayers & Allied Craftsman Union. He was a US Army Veteran, a past member of the Board of Directors at Illinois Community Bank as well as the Sacred Heart School Board. He loved the time spent with his wife traveling and golfing. Milton also enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His hobbies included gardening, harvesting pecans and working on his farm.

Milton is survived by five daughters, Deb Sanders, Cindy (Todd) Kabbes, Carol Clarkson, Tammy (Bob) Lakin, all of Effingham and Kathy (Randy) Malawy of Edwardsville; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Brothers, Ted Hinkle, Bob Hinkle and Jim Hinkle. 

Milton was preceded in death by his parents; wife; five sisters and three brothers.
