Richard Clay White, 85, of Cowden died at 8:30am Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 19 at 10:30am at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden.  Visitation will be from 6-8pm Friday.  Burial in Hubbartt Cemetery near Beecher City.  Memorials to the American Diabetes Association.  The family requests casual attire.

He was born April 8, 1927 in Illinois, the son of James and Laura Baldwin White.  He married Karen White on September 14, 1973.  He worked at Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou in Shelbyville for 54 years.  Formerly, he was road commissioner for Dry Point Township in Shelby County and farmed.

Survivors include his wife, Karen White of Beecher City...children, Joshua White and wife Crissy of Springfield, Faron Blackwell and wife Vicki of Shelbyville, Carla Thomas of Beecher City, and Maxie Evans of Olney...12 grandchildren...14 great-grandchildren...sister, Rosie Enlow of Brownstown...and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents...five brothers...three sisters...and one great-grandchild.
