Joyce Carol Wagy was born on December 25, 1927 in Newton, Illinois the daughter of Joy and Dodie (Williams) Wagy. Born on Christmas morning, she was our special gift. Joyce worked as a waitress for her parents at Wagy’s Café. She then met her husband while working in the bookkeeping department at the Peoples State Bank. Joyce married Harold Gordon Webb on June 23, 1948. For many years, she stayed at home raising her four children Marilyn, Lee, Larry and Linda. Later she worked at the Newton Flower Shop and the Newton Rest Haven. Her memberships include the Grace United Methodist Church, VFW, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Newton Women’s Club. Joyce dearly loved her family and the activities of her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved to follow them. If the car was going somewhere, she wanted to be in it. She was very blessed to get to stay at home in her later years. Our sister, Linda, was our “angel” making this possible.

Joyce will be loved and remembered by her children Marilyn (Rick) Hartrich, Lee (Terry) Webb, Larry (Andrea) Webb, and Linda Webb; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, an expected new arrival of a great grandson in January, and sister-in-law Rowena Wagy.

Her parents, husband Harold, sister Virginia Marshall, brother Victor Wagy and many special in-laws preceded her in death.

She will be dearly missed and there will always be a piece of her in our hearts, “Sing a Joyous Carol”!
