Robert L. "Bob" Cobble (58) of rural Charleston

Robert L. "Bob" Cobble, 58, of rural Charleston, Illinois, was called home at 12:10 P.M. Friday, January 11, 2013, in the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Bob was born October 7, 1954, in Charleston, Illinois, the son of George and Faye (Lang) Cobble. He married Nancy Smith, October 3, 1986, in Charleston, Illinois. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church of Charleston, and he was a welder and mechanic for thirty-three years at Cobble Welding of Charleston, Illinois.

Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy Cobble of Charleston, IL; children, Sarah Bell and husband Tom of Charleston, IL and Matthew Cobble of Charleston, IL; his parents George and Faye Cobble of Charleston, IL; brothers Dave Cobble of Mattoon, IL, Mike Cobble and Andy Cobble both of Charleston, IL; sisters, Georgia Hillard and husband Mark of Charleston, IL, Brenda Lang and boyfriend Brett of Charleston, IL; Eva Hess and husband Vernon of Burlington, KS; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents and one brother, Lance Cobble.

Bob enjoyed spending time doing yard work, working crossword puzzles and spending time with the two special people in his life, his granddaughters, Lennon and Ella.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

A fellowship gathering for family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M., Tuesday,
January 15, 2013, in the Friendship Baptist Church at 18709 Harrison Street in Charleston, IL.
A celebration of Mr. Cobble’s life will be held at 6:00 P.M. at the Church. Cremation Rites were
accorded in honor of Bob’s wishes. Private family burial will be held at a later date at the Miller-Courtney Cemetery in rural Charleston, IL. The Swengel - O’Dell Funeral of Neoga, is in charge of arrangements.
