Dale Kershner, 58, of Dieterich, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at his home.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Dale was born on April 28, 1960 in Effingham, IL, the son of David and Emma (Lamar) Kershner.
Dale graduated from Effingham High School in 1978 and attended Lake Land College. He worked at World Color Press and Holiday Shell for several years. In 1990, he met Sue Starner and they were together ever since. Dale retired as a mechanic, working on tractors and combines.
Dale enjoyed fishing and shooting firearms. He was a fantastic woodworker and had a love of trains, even building three cars for his front yard. Dale also loved his animals.
Dale is survived by his significant other of almost 29 years, Sue Starner of Dieterich. He was preceded in death by his parents; and uncle, Joe Kershner.
