Sandra Jean Sires, 74, of Strasburg died at 5:33pm Thursday, October 25, 2018 in HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018 at Haven Hill Cemetery, Olney, IL, with Rev. Paul McGhghy and Rev. Glenn Strohschein officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2018 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Sandra was born on September 23, 1944 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of James Leroy and Dorothy Isabel (Yeaman) Bell. She worked at the Windsor IGA for many years. Sandra was a member of Seasoned Citizen Club and Crochet Club both in Strasburg, IL. She married Donald Lee Sires on June 3, 1967 in Rock Island, IL and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2015.
She is survived by her daughters, Tonya Sue White (John III) of Sullivan, IL, and Michelle Lee Sires-Iffert (Curt) of Fairview Heights, IL; seven grandchildren, Aaron David Louer (Cassandra Morgan), Christopher Michael Louer, Isabella Grace Iffert, Olivia Danielle Iffert, Makayla Faith Iffert, Catherine Alexis Louer Tanner (Butch), and Kaitlyn Aryana White; five great grandchildren, Hunter Stanton Bradley Louer, Ryker Leo Torma, Tatum Noelle Torma, Grace Ellen Tanner, and Kade Phillip Tanner; special family members, Cheryl Lee Harmon (Tom) of West Buxton, ME, and Ronald Lee Hackett (Christina) of Kerrville, TX; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Bell of Champaign, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Larry Lee Bell; and infant sister, Carolyn Ann Bell.
