Marilyn Kay Quindry, age 75, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 2:15 PM – Saturday, October 13, 2018, at her home.

Funeral services celebrating Marilyn’s life will be held at 10:00 AM – Thursday, October 18 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Tom Matson officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Wednesday. Marilyn was born on April 6, 1943, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Loraine and Laura (Chapman) Michl. Marilyn graduated from Newton Community High School in 1961, and then attended Eastern Illinois University. She worked at the First National Bank in Newton for several years as secretary to the president. She then went to work at People’s State Bank in Newton, Illinois, where she retired from after many years of service. Marilyn married Hugh Stone and they were the parents of a daughter Stacey Michl. She later married Curtis Quindry and they were the parents of a son Travis Lee. Marilyn was a member of the Willow Hill United Methodist Church.

Marilyn is survived by: Daughter – Stacey Ping of Newton, Illinois; Grandchildren – Jessica Ping (Allie Randolph) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Jacey (Brent) Probst of Montrose, Illinois and Jordan Ping (fiancé Stephanie Ochs) of Newton, Illinois; Great Granddaughter – Emma Lorraine Probst of Montrose, Illinois; Special friend and companion – Curtis Quindry of Newton, Illinois.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, son Travis Lee Quindry on October 26, 2006, and a sister Joy Darlene Michl.
