Loren Dale Musgrove, age 77, of Muncie, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born November 5, 1940 in Newton, Illinois, he was the son of the late Virgil and Ruby (Jones) Musgrove. After attending Newton High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Army Airborne Division. Loren worked for Carrier Building Services for 30 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 440 from 1969-2018, and a lifetime member of the NRA. In addition to his work with Carrier, Loren also raised Belgian draft horses. Between work and his horses he had little free time, but when Loren could find the time he enjoyed going camping and trying to get in some hunting and fishing. He also had a true passion for shooting sports. He was a superior marksman in both his military career and in civilian life, winning the 1999 State Championship for shooting skeet. For Loren it was more than a hobby, it was also a chance for him to have special connection with his grandchildren. He loved talking about guns and shooting with them. His grandchildren were his life. If there was something going on in their lives, you better believe that Grandpa was going to be a part of it.

Loren is survived by his loving wife, Margaret (Stewart) Musgrove. She and Loren were married on August 31, 2004. Also surviving are his son, Dale E. Musgrove (Karen K.) of Sheridan, IN; his daughter, Jamie Sue Hottinger of Indianapolis, IN; 2 step sons, Keith Stewart (Robin) of Williamston, MI and Mark Stewart (Lisa) of Bargersville, IN; step daughter, Carol Longenecker (Kent) of Sheridan, IN; 11 grandchildren, Meegan Clifton (Lloyd), Elizabeth Lehman (Ryan), Emily Musgrove, Dale Musgrove, Steven Longenecker (Stacee), Kathie Ravenscroft (Julian), Ruth Cooper (Joel), Tom Stewart, Bethany Pendell (David), Emily Stewart, and Nathan Stewart; 5 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Beulah Shadle of Effingham, ILL, and Doreen Clow (David) of Washington Court House, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Vernon Musgrove; and 1 sister, Louise Powers.

Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 11 at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th Street, Sheridan, Indiana, with visitation from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 14 at Mound Cemetery in Willow Hill, Illinois.
