Freda Tipton-Wooley, 55, of Mattoon, IL passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Charleston, IL after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Freda was born April 30, 1963, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Charles “Joe” and Marilyn Tipton. She was a graduate of Windsor High School in the Class of 1981 and worked at Pinnacle Foods in Mattoon. Freda was a kind, good hearted person who was loved by many and believed in living life to the fullest. She was a hard worker and the “Best Nana on the Planet” to her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her father, Charles “Joe” Tipton of Mattoon; children: Kimberly White of Charleston, Richard “Adam” (Brittani) Hartman of Crawfordsville, IN and Samantha Harlin of Charleston; stepdaughter, Nikola (John) Cone Harris of Charleston; grandchildren: Tanner, Chase, Blaze, Quentin, Maxine, Theodore and Mason Lee; Cody, Hunter and Arianna; sisters: Carol Otto of Mattoon and Diane (Steve) Roberts of Windsor; brother, Pete (Lora) Tipton of Windsor and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Marilyn Tipton; life partner, Tim Cone; granddaughter, Kaylynn Pearson and nephew, James “Jimmy” Tipton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 4 at Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor with Reverend David Dolan officiating. Burial will take place in Sand Creek Cemetery in rural Windsor. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to the family.
