David W. Oliver (55) of Altamont

David William Oliver, of Altamont, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the age of 55 at his home.

David was born to parents Alvin and Karon (Hayes) Oliver on Sunday, September 29, 1963 in Vandalia, IL. He grew up as the oldest of two brothers, and graduated from Altamont Community High School in 1981. David’s passion for working with his hands quickly became a skill, and ultimately, a 35-year vocation making home improvements. David loved the outdoors, and all of the animals and mushrooms within it. Beloved by big dogs and stray cats, he was most at home in the timber. His friends, family and pets will wistfully look down that trail, expecting his return.

David is survived by his daughter, Bayli Ashley and her husband Matthew; stepsons Devin Frailey and Cody Frailey; brother, Jon; parents, Alvin and Karon; and grandchildren, Caden, Hudson, Fiona, Reece, Mirrah and Samantha.

A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Altamont, on Sunday, October 14 at 2pm with Rev. Paige Roberts officiating. Visitation with friends and family begins an hour prior to the service, with refreshments after. Details may be found by clicking here.
