Herman A. Wolf, 97, of Neoga, Illinois, formerly of rural Toledo, Illinois, passed away at 6:58 A. M. Monday, September 24, 2018, in the Carle Foundation Hospital of Urbana, Illinois.

Herman was born June 22, 1921, in Cumberland County, Illinois, the son of Henry A. and Clara (Werth) Wolf. He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Sigel, Illinois and he served in the United States Army during World War II. Herman was also a life member of the Votaw-Swank Post # 458, of Neoga, Illinois and a life member of the Cumberland County Farm Bureau. He married Ellen Naomi Yocum on November 30, 1989 in Denver, Co and Mrs. Wolf passed away April 16, 2006. Herman never met a stranger, he enjoyed visiting and talking with his family and his friends and neighbors.

Mr. Wolf leaves one brother, Kenneth Wolf and his wife Ruth of rural Neoga, IL; four step-children, Larry Whitaker and wife Wanda, Jack Whitaker and wife Donna all of Toledo, IL, Sandra Kinnaman of Mattoon, IL and Brenda Wilson of Charleston, IL; nieces and nephews; several step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren.

Mr. Wolf was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Arnold Wm. Wolf.

Memorials may be made to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 201 East Washington St., Sigel, Illinois 62462.

A Celebration of Herman’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 29 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Sigel, Illinois with Pastor Earl Brown officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour before the services at the Church. Burial will be in Elliott Cemetery in Cumberland County with Military services conducted by the Votaw-Swank Post # 458 of Neoga, Illinois. The Swengel-O’Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, is in charge of arrangements.
