Ed Finn, age 93, of Hidalgo, Illinois, passed away at 9:10 AM – Saturday September 22, 2018, at his home.

Funeral services celebrating Ed’s life will be held at 10:00 AM – Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Pastor Roger James.  Burial will be in the Aten Cemetery in rural Hidalgo, Illinois, with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion.  Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Monday, September 24, 2018, at the funeral home.

Ed was born on January 10, 1925, in Hidalgo, Illinois, the son of William Finn and Florence (Ochs) Finn.  He married Minie Belle Hamilton on September 25, 1948, and she preceded him in death on March 30, 2012.

Ed served his country in the United States Army during WW II.  He was a farmer and for many years constructed grain bins, a business that his family carries on.

Ed is survived by: Children – Joyce (Francis) Henne of Mattoon, Illinois; Linda Nuding of Shelbyville, Illinois; Eddie (Vicki) Finn of Newton, Illinois; Shirley (Jim) Price of Stockton, Alabama; Ray Finn of Newton, Illinois; Mike (Diana) Finn of Greenup, Illinois; Danny Finn of Newton, Illinois; Sherry (Caeser) Siclare of Cleveland, Tennessee and Jodi Miller of Newton, Illinois. Brother – Bill Finn of Hidalgo, Illinois. Sister – Betty Ebbert of Wheeler, Illinois. 16 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, and four Great Great Grandchildren.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Ed Finn, Jr.; daughter-in-law Sandy Finn; grandsons Eddie Finn, Jr., Mitch Finn and Danny Finn, Jr. and siblings Fred Finn, Charlie Finn, Edna Kibler and Orville Finn.
