Agnes B. "Aggie" Meyer, 95 of Effingham, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Harmony Center at the Odd Fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 24 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. A C.C.W. rosary will be held at 3:00 p.m., followed by visitation until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorial donations may be given to St. Anthony Schools or to the donor’s choice.

Aggie was born February 21, 1923 in Effingham, the daughter of George H. and Catherine (Doedtman) Meyer. She was employed at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for over 45 years. Aggie was a member of St. Anthony Church and the St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women. She was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her great-nephews. Aggie babysat many children and always treated them like they were her very own. She had such a giving nature and was always willing to help others when needed. 

Aggie is survived by her nieces, Janet Pagel of Effingham and Sharon Esker of San Francisco, CA; nephews, Thomas (Kim) Esker of Brooksville, FL and Terry (Gail) Esker of Effingham; great-nephews, Doug, Bryan and Guy Pagel and Ben and Blake Esker.

Aggie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Clara Esker; brother-in-law, LeRoy Esker and nephew, Floyd Pagel.
