Floyd Wayne Dial, 82, of Altamont, IL passed away with loved ones by his side on Friday, September 7, 2018 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Hospital in Effingham, IL.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City with Pastor Sid Hutchison officiating.  Burial will take place in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Moccasin.  Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City.  Memorials may be in Floyd’s memory to the donor’s choice.

Floyd was born March 6, 1936, in Loudon Township, the son of Wayne and Jean (Howard) Dial.  He married Marilyn Jane Phillips on April 3, 1957 and they were blessed with 55 years of marriage before her passing on April 11, 2012.  Floyd farmed and worked at World Color Press in Effingham for 21 years.   He enjoyed woodworking, coon hunting, mushroom hunting and listening to blue grass music.  

Floyd will be sadly missed by his children:  Phillip (Cheryl) Dial, Gina Dial all of Beecher City, Barbara Dial and Sharon (Tony) McElroy all of Altamont; grandchildren:  Wesley (Taylor) Dial, Eric Dial, Mitchell Dial, Kelli (Houston) Moses, Damion Shumard and Kiefer (Emily) McElroy; five great-grandchildren:  Garrett, Noah, Avery, Colt and Trigg and brother, Jim (Patricia) Dial of Effingham.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Wayne and Jean; wife, Marilyn; brother, Raleigh; great-grandchildren: Jayna and Chloe Dial.
