Carl F. Faulkner Jr., 83, of Mattoon, IL, formerly of Sullivan, IL passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home Harmony Center in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Reverend James Whitaker officiating. Burial will take place in Glenwood Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Roy Vanderpool Post #81 of Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Memorials may be made in his name to the Odd-Fellow-Rebekah Home Harmony Center Activity Fund, 201 Lafayette Avenue East, Mattoon, IL 61938 or the Windsor Harvest Picnic.

Carl was born July 24, 1935, in Shelbyville, the son of Carl and Dorothy (Johnson) Faulkner. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1953 and was a veteran of the United States Army. Carl married Jane Bunyard in 1954 and together they had three children. Then they divorced in 1979. He later married Jean Brown and they too were divorced. Carl was a member of the American Legion Garrett-Baldridge Post #725 in Windsor.

Carl is survived by daughter, Margaret (Jerry) Burrell of Neoga; son, David Mark (Diana) Faulkner of Flemingsburg, KY; grandchildren: Kyle (Kelly) Faulkner, Grant (Samantha) Faulkner, Jennifer (Ryan) Whitaker, Justin (Katie) Burrell, Natalie Burrell, Shelby Faulkner and Ryan Faulkner; great-grandchildren: Haylee and Hayden Faulkner, Lily, Aubrey and Aiden Whitaker and Eli Burrell; brother, Ron (Cheryl) Faulkner of Shelbyville; sisters: Marilyn Harley of Shelbyville, Linda (Larry) Cole of Shelbyville, Janet Wankel of Plano and Debra (Terry) Faulkner of Seminole, FL.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Michael Faulkner; brother, David Faulkner and sisters Margery Wilson and Barbara Lenz.
