Dennis Lawrence (63) of St. John's, Fla., Formerly of Effingham

Dennis John Lawrence (63) of St. Johns, Florida, formerly of  Effingham, Illinois passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 23 at 11 a.m. at Creekside Christian Church in St. Johns, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Creekside Christian Church Building Fund.

Dennis was born, February 26, 1955 to Noble and Lucille Lawrence in Charleston, Illinois. He graduated from Effingham High School in 1973. He worked as a service representative for railroad maintenance equipment. He married Cindy Haley in 1978. He attended Creekside Christian Church in St. Johns. He enjoyed fishing, golf, outdoor sports and was a high master high power rifle shooter. He will be remembered for his love of animals, his willingness to help others and for trying to do his best at whatever he purchased.

He is survived by Cindy, his wife of almost 40 years, sons, Andrew Lawrence of Green Cove Springs and Chris Lawrence of Jacksonville; sisters, Vicki Takahashi and Julie Riehm and brother Thomas Lawrence; granddaughter, Skylar Covington along with her family John, Donna and Tyler Covington and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noble and Lucille Lawrence and grandparents.
