Shawn Maree Larson (69) of Alexandria, Minnesota

Shawn Maree Larson, 69, of Alexandria, MN, passed away peacefully at 12:38 pm Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Effingham Health and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham with her daughter Holly by her side.

According to Shawn’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded. Private graveside services for family will be held in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton, MN at a later date. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family. Online condolences may be shared by clicking here.

Shawn was born on September 4, 1948 in Lake Preston, SD, the loving adopted daughter of Ernest and Trena (Meyer) Hindt. Shawn had such a big heart, always tending to others and caring for them. Visits from her children were always a highlight and extra special to her. She was also very proud of her grandchildren. She loved her photos, country music, dancing, swimming, cooking, baking, going to the movies, eating out at restaurants, and spending time with close friends. Shawn was very meticulous, especially when taking caring of her own town home as it was all she had and knew for 35 years. She had a small daycare and did housekeeping in her life. Shawn was strong and resilient, definitely a survivor with much faith.

Shawn is survived by her three children, Tamara (Bradford) Jacobson of Apple Valley, MN, Troy (Kristin) Larson of Los Angeles, CA, and Holly (Noah) Brandenburger of Effingham, IL; grandchildren, Olivia Riley of Malibu, CA, James Riley III and Nina Riley both of Apple Valley, MN, Anasophia Lane of Boston, MA, and Samantha, Alexander, Adam, Andrew, and Anthony Brandenburger all of Effingham, IL; and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
