Pat was born on October 11, 1928, in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Clifford F. and Ella E. (Baker) Hightshoe. She was united in marriage to James H. Martin on September 20, 1947, in Robinson, IL, and he preceded her in death on March 16, 2015. Pat was a homemaker who kept a clean house (mom would want us to say that.) She was an excellent cook and an avid bridge player. She also found joy in visiting with other people. Pat was a member of the First Christian Church in Effingham.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Larry) Johnson of Effingham; son, Kelly (Susan) Martin of Mattoon; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Draper of Terre Haute, IN, and Judy Meiring of Martinsville, IL; and brothers, Bill (Anita) Hightshoe of Brazil, IN, and Tom Seabury of Battle Creek, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; son, Richard “Dick” Martin; sisters, Peg Zajicek, and Phyllis Everest; and brother, Jack Hightshoe.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Brookstone Estates, the sixth floor staff of HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, and the staff of Evergreen Nursing Home for the loving care given to our mother.
