Mrs. Mary Frances Baldwin, 93, of Mattoon, Illinois, formerly of Neoga, and Alton, Illinois, passed away at 10:28 A.M. Saturday, June 30, 2018 in the Mattoon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center of Mattoon, Illinois.
Mary Francis Baldwin was born on January 5, 1925, in Sesser, Illinois, the daughter of Charles R. and Radie (Harmon) Thompson. On December 9, 1943, she married Edsel Willard Baldwin in Sesser, Illinois. Edsel Baldwin passed away May 24, 2003. Mary Frances was a former secretary for the Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville, Illinois and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Alton, Illinois.
Mary Frances leaves one daughter, Donna Leah Nelson and husband Richard of Neoga, Illinois; two sons, Charles Gordon Baldwin and wife Joyce of Mahomet, Illinois and Bradford Marion Baldwin and wife Cindy of Bettendorf, Iowa; one brother, Charles Robert Thompson and wife Anita of Mustang, Oklahoma; two sisters, Frieda Woodrome of Columbia, Illinois and Janice Crenshaw and husband John of Bowling Green, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Adam C. Baldwin, Michelle M. Maxedon, Jeremy A. Christopher A. and Nathan A. Nelson, Mark B. Baldwin; ten great grandchildren.
Mary Frances was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Marion Thompson.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2309 West White Oaks Drive, Unit "E", Springfield, IL, 62704.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Monday, July 9 in the Grace United Methodist Church, 752 Walnut Ave., Neoga, IL, 62447, with the Rev. Robert Dillingham of Neoga, officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the Church. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, July 9 in the Maple Hill Cemetery near Sesser, Illinois. The Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, is in charge of arrangements.
