Ronald Francis Dhom, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 1:00 AM – Monday, June 25, 2018, at his home.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM – Friday, June 29 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, with Fr. James Flach and Fr. Dean Probst celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Thursday at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Ronald was born on May 27, 1950, in rural Willow Hill, Illinois, the son of John R. and Doris Irene (Burwell) Dhom. He married Ethel “Dusty” Huber on December 23, 1977, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Oblong, Illinois. Ronald graduated from Newton Community High School in 1969. He worked at E.R. Moore Cap and Gown Factory, Rex Vault, GSI and at Staley Farms. Ronald was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Oblong. He enjoyed raising animals, watching westerns and spending time with his family.

Ronald is survived by: Wife of 40 years – Ethel “Dusty” Dhom of Newton, Illinois; Brothers – David (Shirley) Dhom of Newton, Illinois and Steve Dhom of Newton, Illinois; Sister – Pam Stephenson of Newton, Illinois; Brothers-in-law – Jack (Betty) Huber of Yale, Illinois; Bob Huber of Richland, North Carolina and Gilbert Huber of Urbana, Missouri; Special nephews who he considered his grandsons – Tucker and Bryar Babbs; Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Raymond, George “Roy”, Stanley and John Joseph Dhom; and his father and mother-in-law Bernard and Evelyn Huber.
