Ardith V. Davis, 82, of Cisco, Illinois passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Kirby Medical Center, Monticello.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 3 at 2 p.m. at the Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo with Brother Jim Giffin of the First Church of God officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, January 3 beginning at 1 p.m. at Kull Funeral Home, St. Elmo preceding the graveside services. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice. Ardith was born November 19, 1930 at home in rural Mound Township, Effingham County, the daughter of John and Bertha (Tish) Blurton. She graduated from St. Elmo High School with the class of 1949. She attended Illinois State Teachers College in Normal and began her teaching career at the age of 19. She married Clifford Eugene Davis, February 28, 1955 in the First Church of God, St. Elmo. She taught school at the Loudon Township, Fayette County, rural school as well as at Ramsey, teaching all eight grades.

Survivors include her husband, Clifford Eugene Davis of Cisco; sons, Bradley Lenn Davis of St. Elmo; Randy Allen (wife Jill) Davis of St. Elmo; brother, Lloyd Blurton of Liberty, Mo.; sisters, Joyce Martin of Effingham, Mila (husband Robert) Leach of St. Charles, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Mary Ruth (husband Tom) Yockey of Decatur, Gertrude Irene (husband Charles) Garrison of Nevada, Mo., Edna Francis (husband Oliver) Wright of St. Elmo and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, John Riley and Bertha Jane Tish Blurton; son, David Eugene Davis in his infancy; grandson, Robert Clifford Davis in his infancy; brother, Allen Melvin Blurton and sister-in-law, Rebecca Olive (husband Dean) Painter.
