Clifford G. Carrell, 67, of Greenup, IL passed away at 2:02 AM Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

The celebration of life service will be at 7:00 PM Monday, June 18 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. The family welcomes friends and loved ones beginning at 3:00 PM and encourages those attending to wear colorful, casual attire. Burial will be at a later date.

Cliff was born on February 23, 1951 in Mattoon, IL to Kenneth & Ila (Carlen) Carrell. He married Lynn Shull in Toledo, IL on November 26, 1972.

Surviving is his wife, daughter Natalie (Billy) Dihel of Chicago and sister Esther Carrell of Evansville, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Golda Dunn.

Cliff graduated from Cumberland High School in 1969 and from Eastern Illinois University in 1973. For over 30 years, Cliff worked in agriculture sales for companies including Allis Chalmers, Versatile, Case International, Woods and Farm Pride. In his spare time and in retirement, he worked on the family farm and was a driver for Bales Unlimited, Inc. Cliff also served on the Cumberland County Board and was a trustee for Greenup Twp. He will be remembered by many as a gifted conversationalist and for his love of tinkering, toy tractors, genealogy, and Cumberland County history. Cliff had a natural curiosity and enjoyed learning from others as well as sharing stories with old and new friends alike. He played Santa Claus during Christmas and brought joy to many. He was a member of the Toledo Masonic Lodge #834 AF & AM.
