Jack Lee Arnold, age 82, of Watson, Illinois passed away at 10:49 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 9 at Watson United Methodist Church in Watson, Illinois with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Pastor Jim Whitaker will be officiating. Burial will be at Loy Chapel Cemetery in Effingham, Illinois with military rites observed. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Jack was born on September 18, 1935 in Watson, Illinois the son of James and Glenna (Odor) Arnold. He married Margaret June White in 1957 in Corinth, Mississippi. He was a member of the Effingham High School Chain Gang for 44 years, Effingham American Legion Post #120, Effingham VFW, Watson United Methodist Church and the Watson Township Association. He coached Senior Babe Ruth, Flag Football, ECYC, Edgewood League, Men’s Softball, Little League, Pony League and American Legion for the Effingham Park District. He was a Korean Veteran and an employee of Consolidated for several years. He enjoyed horses, golfing, being outside, country dancing and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his five sons, Vic Arnold (special friend Sandy) of Funkhouser, Illinois, Randy Arnold (wife Danielle) of St. Elmo, Illinois, Chuck Arnold (wife Michelle) of Watson, Illinois, Jimbo Arnold (wife Rita) of Watson, Illinois, Rob Arnold (wife Diane) of Watson, Illinois; two brothers, Bob Arnold (wife Carol) of Watson, Illinois and Bill Arnold of Watson, Illinois; two sisters, Barb Fearday (husband Paul) of Effingham, Illinois and Vicky Bond of Effingham, Illinois; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; special friend, Iris Johnson; brother-in-law, Luke Turner of Bossier City, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Diane Arnold of Westerville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Glenna Arnold; wife, Margaret June Arnold; brother, Jim Arnold; sister, Deloris Turner; brother-in-law, James Bond and sister-in-law, Lola Arnold; one grandchild, Wyatt Lee Arnold and two great-grandchildren, Isabelle Rose Mathis and Reese Wortman.
