Doris Irene (Painter) Warren, 79, of Stewardson passed away at 9:50 A.M. Sunday, May 13, 2018, in HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital of Effingham, Illinois.

Doris was born October 31, 1938, in rural Clay County, IL, the daughter of Herman and Dorsie (Raymer) Painter. Doris married Richard J. Warren, December 30, 1961, in Effingham, Illinois, and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage. Doris retired from Norge/Fedders Corp. of Effingham, IL, after 42-1/2 years of service.

Doris leaves her husband, Richard Warren of rural Stewardson, IL. Doris is survived by three daughters, Doris (Richard) Baker of Stewardson, IL, Rose Seaman of Mattoon, IL and Annie (David) Ballinger of Stewardson, IL; sister, Barbara (Leroy) Holmes of Centralia, IL; (brothers) Herman, (Vera) Painter of Mason, IL, Roy Painter of Toledo, IL: one sister-in-law, Linda Painter of Staunton, IL; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren and one on the way; several nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Darrell Painter; one granddaughter, Brianna Rose Seaman and a son-in-law, Jim Hall. She also leaves her very close and lovable Bassett Hound, "Ms. Tippy".

Doris also enjoyed the great outdoors traveling with her husband, especially when they traveled on their Honda Gold Wing motorcycle. They were life time members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Assoc. They traveled through two-thirds of the states on their motorcycle. They also enjoyed making lovely flower beds each year and she loved reading and assembling puzzles, the harder the better. She enjoyed raising her three daughters and watching her grandchildren grow up. They also enjoyed dancing and feeding the birds.

Memorials in her honor may be sent to the family in care of Richard Warren, 819 North 3275 East Road, Stewardson, Illinois 62463.

As per the wishes of Doris, her body will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A. M. Friday, May 18 in the Free Methodist Church of Neoga with the Rev. Steve Massengill of Neoga officiating. The Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
