Cora F. Shrake, 99, of Shelbyville, formerly of Pana, passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 17 at Kaskaskia Church, rural Beecher City, with Pastor Nick Robertson officiating. Burial will take place in Bob Doane Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kaskaskia Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden.

Cora was born January 22, 1919, in Dry Point Township, the daughter of Jacob and Lola Blanche (Taylor) Shrake. She was a graduate of Cowden High School in the Class of 1938. She worked at Mallory’s in Pana and was a member of the Church of Christ in Pana for many years. She enjoyed gardening and was a wonderful seamstress.

Cora is survived by her brother, David Shrake of Beecher City and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Jacob and Lola; daughter, Judy; four sisters: Reba Krueger, Ida Turner, Nellie Kramer and Beulah Sanders.
