Estella Elizabeth Bail, age 95, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 1:50 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2018 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 14 at the First United Methodist Church in St. Elmo, Illinois. There will be a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Pastor Dan Laack will be officiating. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorials may go to the Youth Camp Fund at the First United Methodist Church, Wounded Warriors or the donor’s choice.

Elizabeth was born on November 20, 1922 in Sefton Township, Illinois the daughter of James K. and Alta C. (Carson) Bolds. She married Dewey Martin Bail on July 22, 1940 in St. Charles, Missouri. She enjoyed going to flea markets, auctions and was an avid reader. Elizabeth and Dewey owned and operated Bail’s Timberline Campground and Lake. She spent most of her time working and loved spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her son, David Bail (wife Sue) of Temecula, California; daughter, Leatha Newberry (husband Dee) of St. Elmo, Illinois; son-in-law, Patrick Leach of St. Elmo, Illinois; two sisters, Margaret Mennerick of St. Charles, Illinois and Patsy Payne (husband Steve) of Caldwell, Texas; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alta Bolds; husband, Dewey Bail; daughter, Judy Leach; brother, Warren Bolds; sister, Kathryn Militello.
