Charles “Charlie” Wall, 82, of Cowden, passed away at 7:09 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8 at the First Christian Church in Cowden with Reverend Darrell Hinkle officiating. Burial will take place in Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Cowden First Christian Church Youth Group, Cowden United Methodist Church Youth Group or the Cowden Free Methodist Church Youth Group. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden is assisting the family.

Charlie was born November 28, 1935, in Bowling Green Township, the son of Alfred W. and Georgia Pauline (Carter) Wall. He was a 1953 graduate of Cowden High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. Charlie and JoAnn Thompson were united in marriage on November 28, 1958 in Herrick. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Cowden and the Teamsters Local Union 279. Charlie was retired from Christy-Foltz, Inc. and from farming.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, JoAnn of Cowden; children: Jill (Steve) Miller of Cowden, Chuck (Shannon) Wall of Pass Christian, Mississippi and Monte (Emilie) Wall of Altamont; six grandsons; three granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; brother, Gene (Carolyn) Wall of Cowden; sisters-in-law: Joyce Wall of Cowden and Roberta (Floyd) White of Herrick; aunt, Lois Dunaway of Cowden and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Alfred and Pauline; brother, Junior; sister, Mary Ellen Hays and several aunts and uncles.
