Arthur A. “Art” Brumleve, 91, passed away Sunday morning, April 22, 2018 at his home in Teutopolis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 25 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the church with a 6:30 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary and a parish prayer service immediately following. Memorial donations may be made to Meals of Wheels or the Teutopolis Religious Program.

Art was born May 30, 1926 in Teutopolis, the son of August and Margaret (Einhorn) Brumleve. He married Rosemary A. Thoele on July 9, 1949. Art served with the United States Navy Seabees during WWII. He was a member of St. Francis Church in Teutopolis, Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council #2468, the Holy Name Society and volunteered at the Paper Depot. Art was also a member of the Teutopolis American Legion Post #924 and the Effingham V.F.W. Post #1769. Art had a love for dancing and spent 20 years organizing the dances at the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Hall. He worked for 50 years as a barber and enjoyed watching softball and mowing his lawn.

Art leaves behind his loving wife, Rosemary of Teutopolis; sons, Bill (Karen), Pat (Vickie), Roy (Marsha) and Scott (Tina), all of Teutopolis; daughters, Sheri (Pat) Jenkinson of Palatine and Pam (Rick) Murman of Lake Zurich; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Art was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Stella Mette and Lucille Kaufman and twin infant great-grandchildren.
