Edna M. Wells (87) of Mattoon

Edna M. Wells, 87, of Mattoon, Illinois, passed away at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at her residence in Mattoon, IL.

She was born December 23, 1930, in Moultrie County, IL, the daughter of James H. and Catherine L. (Freeman) Snyder. She married Robert E. Wells, October 5, 1949, in Coles County, IL and Mr. Wells passed away February 24, 2000. Edna was a housewife, homemaker and a retired telephone operator, for the Illinois Consolidated Telephone Co., for twenty-seven years of Mattoon, IL. Her great enjoyment was playing Bingo.

Mrs. Wells leaves six children, James Wells (Kaye) of Charleston, IL, Steven Wells (Sue) of Casey, IL, Deborah Terrett of Mattoon, IL, Rebecca White (Mitch) of Jacksonville, IL, Christopher Wells ( Rebecca) of Effingham, IL and Eric Wells (Carla) of Gays, IL. eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Wells was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert E. Wells; one son, Kim Wells; one granddaughter, Angie Quast; one son-in-law, John Terrett. Memorials may be made to Mitch and Rebecca White, 24 Jacobs Lane, Jacksonville, IL 62650.

As per the wishes of Mrs. Wells, her body will be Cremated and a Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 26 in the Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon, IL, with the Rev. James Maroon of Neoga officiating. Burial will be in the Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon, IL. The Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
