Clara W. Wolf, 100, of Effingham, formerly of Wheeler, IL, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at The Glenwood Assisted Living in Effingham, IL on what would have been Clara and Reinhart’s 82nd wedding anniversary.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 17 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, located on the Montrose Blacktop between Montrose and Dieterich. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL.

Clara was born on August 9, 1917, in rural Altamont, IL, the daughter of Henry and Augusta (Zempter) Alwardt. She was united in marriage to Reinhart Wolf on April 13, 1936, and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1993. Clara was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She helped her husband on the farm. Clara enjoyed bowling, gardening, painting, and volunteering at the Silk Purse Thrift Store. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Clara is survived by her children, Irene (John) Blievernicht of Teutopolis, Donald (Sally) Wolf of Paxton, Joan (Eugene) Campbell of Neoga, Elaine (John) Kottke of Forsyth, and Norma (Ken) Lansing of Effingham; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reinhart; 6 brothers; 6 sisters; 1 grandson; 2 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
