Sandra L. "Sandy" Stuemke (61) of Effingham, formerly of Altamont

Sandra L. ‘Sandy’ Stuemke, 61, of Effingham, formerly of Altamont, died at 1:01 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 11 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effingham with burial to follow at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be from 5 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont and for one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the EASTER Program at St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Whoo Hoo Sisterhood or the donors’ choice.

Sandra Louise Stuemke was born on Sunday, March 17, 1957, in Vandalia to Delbert and Mildred Alwardt Stuemke. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont and St. John’s Lutheran Church EASTER Program and Prayer Shawl Ministry. She was associated with ARC Community Support Systems for many years.

Sandy is survived by her brothers, Mel (Karen) Stuemke, St. Elmo; Elwin ‘Curly’ (April) Stuemke and Eugene (Sandra) Stuemke, Altamont, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
