Kay Heady age 77 of Newton passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Illinois. 

Funeral services celebrating Kay’s will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 8 at the Crain Funeral Home with Pastor Garth Whewell officiating. Visitation will from 1:00 p.m. until time of service Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Newton.

Memorial gifts in honor of Kay may be made to either the National Kidney Foundation or to the Newton Masonic Lodge No. 216 A. F. & A.M.

Kay was born on March 6, 1941 in Richland County, Illinois the daughter of Eben and Mary (Clark) Williams. She married Larry Brummett.  Kay later married Duane Heady on December 21, 1983.  He preceded her in death on November 1, 2010.  Kay worked in the office of the Lawrence County Assessor’s Office and later for Griffith Trucking. Through the years, Kay attended the First Christian Church of Bridgeport, was a member of Delta Theta Tau and served as Girl Scout Trout Leader for her daughters. Kay enjoyed cooking, baking, making candy and being crafty.  She loved to spend time outdoors in the sun and with the horses and attending auction sales and the county fair.  For many years, Kay helped with the Shrine stand during the fair.  Time spent with family, friends, and her kitty Midnight was special to Kay.

Kay will be loved and remembered by her daughters Micki Seitzinger, husband “Doodle” of Lawrenceville and Tana Daily, husband David of Sullivan, IL; step-daughters Valerie Heady- Pedemonte, husband Daniel of Chicago and Pamela Heady of Crystal Lake; eight grandchildren Angie Tracy, husband Rob, Chris Dining, Megan Seitzinger, Ally Seitzinger, Breeann Seitzinger, Holten Seitzinger, Dru Daily and Cassidy Daily; great-grandchildren Rowe Tracy, Reese Tracy, Jerry Dining, and Rowen Seitzinger.

Her parents and husband Duane preceded her in death.
