Ruth was born January 24, 1934, at home in rural Louisville, Illinois, to Nicholas “Lyle” and Zola Leona (Fulk) Bateman. She was baptized at Little Muddy Creek in rural Ingraham. Ruth met the love of her life, Floyd Eugene Weber, from Bogota, Illinois, in January 1950. They were married April 1, 1956, at the Louisville Christian Church, Louisville, Illinois, with Brother Larry Schnautz officiating. Floyd and Ruth began their marriage living in rural Louisville and raised their family of four children there. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 1, 2016. Ruth treasured her family and always wanted them nearby. She frequently stressed the importance of education to her children and grandchildren, and she enjoyed following their activities, invariably supporting them and their endeavors. Additionally, she patiently labored for innumerable hours on needlework such as counted cross-stitch quilts, baby quilts, and wall hangings and was an excellent baker and pancake-maker. Furthermore, she was a family historian who could usually supply detailed verbal answers to almost any type of question concerning extended family, using only her memory as a resource.

Ruth is survived by her four children and nine grandchildren: Larry (Dena) Weber of Effingham, Illinois; Jerry (Louise) Weber of Teutopolis, Illinois; Dale (Dena) Weber of Louisville, Illinois; and Mary (Joseph) Cardascio of Mt Zion, Illinois. Ruth’s nine grandchildren are: Benjamin Deaton of Peyton, Colorado; Kraig (Morgan) Weber of Paducah, Kentucky; Michael Weber of Carmel, Indiana; Bryce Weber, of Louisville, Illinois; Alexander (fiancee Heaven Taylor) Cardascio of Columbia, Missouri; Keith (Jaymee) Weber of Havelock, North Carolina; Abigail Cardascio of Mt Zion, Illinois; Rachel Weber, of Teutopolis, Illinois; Brandon Weber of Louisville, Illinois. Ruth’s sister, Lois Jean (Bateman) McKnelly of Louisville, Illinois, also survives as well as a large extended family.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
