Marvin Leroy Davis, age 80, of Mason, Illinois passed away at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 peacefully at home.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Kent Robinson will be officiating. Burial will be at the Bethsaida Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Marvin was born on June 25, 1937 in Effingham County, Illinois the son of Donal and Geneva (Smith) Davis. He married Judith Marnell Schwengel on May 1, 1959 at Bethsaida Congregational Christian Church in Dieterich, Illinois, they were just one month shy of 59 years of marriage. He was a member of the Bethsaida Congregational Christian Church. Marvin loved being outdoors, working in his woodshop, four-wheeler riding, mowing and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Davis of Mason, Illinois; son, Terry Davis (wife Lisa) of Sullivan, Illinois; daughter, Kemmy Claar (husband Ed) of Galveston, Texas; sister, Carol Ridgeway (husband Marvin Leon) of Decatur, Illinois; sister-in-law, Loretta Davis of Vandalia, Illinois; 5 grandchildren, Cherity McGee (husband Dylan), Jonathan Pontious (wife Stephanie), Chris Davis (wife Heidi), Josh Davis, Adam Davis; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donal and Geneva Davis and two brothers, Donnie and Ivan Davis.
